Notch AI
Ask the assistant about your drawings, find details across a set, and bring it into a comment thread.
Notch AI is an assistant that reads your drawings. Ask it where something is, what a sheet says, or how to do something in Notch, and it answers from the set in front of you.
Ask the assistant#
Open Assistant in the right sidebar (in the iPhone app, the sparkle on the right-edge pill) and type a question — or pick one of the suggestions, like Summarize this document or Where are the door and window schedules?
The assistant can:
- Read sheets and search the whole set for a detail, a note or a schedule, then take you there — it can jump to a page, zoom to a region, and highlight the markups it's talking about.
- List and look through documents, pages, markups, measurements and custom columns.
- Set a page's scale or create a share link — both ask you to approve first.
- Answer how-to questions about Notch from these help articles, with a link to the right one.
- Ask you when a question is unclear, and remember your preferences for next time.
It can't add, change or delete markups or measurements — it tells you which tool does the job instead.
The history button in the panel's header lists Recent conversations, so you can pick up an earlier thread.
@Notch AI in comments#
In the Discussion panel, mention @Notch AI in a message or pinned comment and the assistant replies in the thread for everyone to see. See Comments & discussion.
Plans and credits#
Notch AI is part of Solo and Pro, with a monthly allowance of AI credits. Workspace settings → Billing → AI usage shows the balance and the activity log; owners and admins can buy a one-time top-up there on the web. See Plans & billing.
Turning AI off#
Owners and admins choose how the workspace uses AI under Workspace settings → AI Settings:
- AI Document Processing — Notch sends documents to lightweight AI models for indexing, scale detection and more. Turning it off stops that, and Remove existing AI data deletes what's already been processed.
- AI Agent — the assistant, @Notch in comments, and routines. Turned off, the Assistant panel says so.
