What Free, Solo and Pro include, how the 14-day trial works, and where to manage billing.
Notch has three plans: Free, Solo and Pro. Free is basic markup, forever. Solo and Pro carry the full toolkit, and Pro adds your team. Viewing and commenting through share links are free on every plan.
The plans#
Free — $0, forever. Basic markup: pen tools, shapes and text (clouds, callouts, arrows and highlights included) on up to 10 documents or 250 MB in the cloud, whichever comes first. Integrations are included, and the iPhone, iPad and Mac apps give you unlimited local editing on files from your device. No card needed.
Solo — $12 a month, or $96 a year ($8 a month). The full toolkit for one person: measurement and takeoff, revision compare, libraries and stamps, layers, and a monthly allowance of Notch AI credits. Up to 100 documents or 10 GB. Solo is for one person, so there's no team editing.
Pro — $24 per editor per month, or $240 per editor per year ($20 a month). The full toolkit with unlimited documents and storage, plus realtime collaboration: team members, guests who can edit, and edit links.
Every plan includes integrations, version history, exports, and view and comment share links that anyone can open.
How documents are counted#
- The count is the documents your workspace holds now. Documents in Trash don't count, so deleting one frees a slot. The sample drawing doesn't count either.
- A revision is a new version of the same document, never an extra one. Older versions are kept, so their file size does count toward storage.
- Imports from an integration count the same as uploads.
The 14-day free trial#
You can try Solo or Pro free for 14 days. The offer comes at the end of setting up your workspace, and from the upgrade prompts in the app.
- A card is required. You're not charged until the trial ends.
- You get the plan you chose. A Pro trial is full Pro, team included.
- Cancel anytime during the trial from Workspace settings → Billing, and you won't be charged.
- One trial per person. It doesn't matter whether you start it on the web or in the apps.
If you'd rather not trial, choose Continue with Free. You can upgrade later.
When a trial or plan ends#
If you keep your plan, the trial turns into a paid subscription on day 15 and nothing changes.
If you cancel, or a subscription ends, the workspace moves to Free. Nothing is deleted:
- Your documents and markups stay where they are: readable, exportable and shareable.
- Measurements and other markups made with paid tools stay visible. Editing them needs Solo or Pro, but you can still delete them.
- If you hold more than Free's 10 documents or 250 MB, you keep all of them. You can't add more until you're back under the limit or you upgrade.
How seats work#
Pro is billed per editor seat:
- Editor seats (billed): owners, admins and members.
- Free: viewer seats (read-only teammates) and document guests (outside collaborators on a single document). Invite as many as you like.
The subscription quantity follows your member list automatically. Promote a viewer to member and the seat count goes up; remove an editor and it goes down. Free and Solo are one-person plans, so inviting teammates needs Pro.
What a limit looks like#
Nothing is hidden. Paid tools show a lock on Free, and picking one offers the trial (or the plans, if you've already had a trial). At the document or storage limit, the Upload, New and Import buttons offer the upgrade instead. Navigation, search, comments, share links, exports and reading always work.
Managing billing#
Workspace settings → Billing (owners and admins) shows your plan, seat counts (editors billed, viewers free), your usage, and your AI credit balance. From there you can upgrade, switch monthly/yearly, and open the billing portal to manage your card, download invoices, or cancel.
