Keyboard shortcuts
Every editor shortcut: tools, drawing, editing, navigation, and search.
Every editor shortcut in one place. On Mac, Ctrl combos also work as ⌘. Letter shortcuts are ignored while you're typing in a text field, and tool shortcuts are disabled in view-only sessions.
Navigation#
- V — Select
- H — Hand (pan)
- Z — Zoom (drag a region to zoom to it; click to zoom in a level, Ctrl+click to zoom out)
- X — Screenshot (drag a region, copied as an image)
- Shift+X — Copy content (drag a region to capture the sheet's own content as a markup)
- Ctrl+F — Search the document
- Ctrl+K — Command palette
- Esc — Cancel the shape you're drawing; otherwise back to Select; otherwise clear the selection
Drawing#
- P — Pen
- Shift+P — Highlighter
- W — Whiteout
- R — Rectangle
- O — Ellipse
- L — Line (drag for a straight segment, or keep clicking for a polyline)
- Shift+L — Arrow
- G — Polygon
- Shift+G — Star
- C — Revision cloud
- I — Place image…
For multi-point shapes (line, polygon, cloud), Enter or a click on the last vertex finishes the shape.
Text & annotations#
- T — Typewriter text
- Shift+T — Text box
- Shift+C — Callout
- K — Link
- Q — Comment pin
- S — Add signature…
Measuring#
- M — Measure (two clicks for a length, or keep clicking for a running length or perimeter)
Area, Cutout, Volume, Angle, Count, and Calibrate scale live in the Measurements flyout without letter shortcuts.
Editing#
- Ctrl+Z — Undo
- Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y — Redo
- Ctrl+C — Copy the selection
- Ctrl+X — Cut the selection
- Ctrl+V — Paste
- Ctrl+D — Duplicate the selection in place
- Delete / Backspace — Delete the selection
- ↑ ↓ ← → — Nudge the selection
- Shift + arrows — Nudge ×10
